Basilisa Marie
I'm tempted to get Jesus stuff for my family this year. Last year they all got secular gifts (and I had more expendable income). I don't want to be the one giving them all a less-than-subtle nudge back to the Church, but that's exactly what I'm probably going to do. I think I just have to be thoughtful enough with it to get something I think they'd actually like.
Spem in alium
I've been put in charge of the Christmas gift for my community. Each year, every Sister gets a small token representing what Jesus has come to her as. For example, a small card with the words, "I come to you as Light". I'm thinking of getting some pouches and putting a little scroll or handmade card inside, just for an air of mystery I'm very excited to give my formation director her gift. I bought her a perfume she really, really wanted, but was too expensive for her to buy. (I still work and support myself, so I was able to get it without her knowing). And still need to brainstorm for my superior. And for my family, I have no idea. Maybe a hamper or something.

vee
For my BFF I will probably send some Summit soaps or something that she wont use and jsut let sit on the shelf For my family we set a price limit and wrap the gifts then draw numbers and that person can open a new gift or steal an already opened gift from someone
chrysostom
Nuns use perfume!? Why can't they? I would imagine that knowing you smell nice, or even wearing a perfume that you enjoy smelling, can be a nice feeling and a little boost to your mentality even if no one is there to smell it. Or maybe she would wear it on feast days, when in other places monks would break out the beer. People celebrate in different ways. Credo in Deum
For my BFF I will probably send some Summit soaps or something that she wont use and jsut let sit on the shelf This is why I give cash. No one returns it, everyone uses it, and haven't seen one person unhappy when they've received it. Some say it's impersonal but I say hogwash. Nuns use perfume!? Contemplation by Calvin Klein. It's a top seller amongst the religious.

xSilverPhinx
I'm terrible at choosing gifts for people (they say that if you want to see if you really know a person, buy them a gift they like). I'll be getting gift cards and that way they can choose gifts that they want. Never failed.
