Explain your avatar

I used to have awesome avatars but everybody kept thinking I was a man so I changed it to alicia silverstone (sp?) from clueless because more feminine and also sarcasm.

I thought you were black, FWIW.

Best avatar without a doubt goes to @BG45 ...I've always admired the firm hand of victory and and the phrase faith manages next to an apparently unrelated chessboard. And the amesome font.

How would you guess that?

Yeah, like peace because icenine's avatar was black I thought she was black when I was new to phatmass. Like I assume Era's white, and peace is black, without thinking about it- whatever first impression your avatar gives, I associate it with you.

Thanks, it's from an old Livejournal community that made Babylon 5 avatars. :)  Brother Theo and his monks came to the station to find out what others believed about God, and in a mostly secular age, showed that faith still mattered and managed.

That is awe.some.  B5 is one of my favorite programs.

Mine is St Gemma Galgani :)  I think it's a drawing. She's one of my favourite Saints.

Almost looks like it could be paint or pastel as well. She is also very dear to me, good choice for an avatar :like2:

My avatar is of a little child consoling Jesus on the Cross, with the rays of His Mercy flowing from His Heart.  In many ways it is a summary of so much of what God desires to give me, and what I want to live.  I think it expresses well my desire to live as a beloved child of God and to console His Heart through trust, love, simplicity, and joy, as well as serves as a reminder to myself that all He wants to do is pour out His grace and mercy upon me if only I would let Him love me that way.

There is so much more that could be said about that image.  But I won't bore you further with any more details   :)

It is taken from Fr. Michael Gaitley's book "Consoling the Heart of Jesus".   I love the simplicity of it.

For the longest time my avatar was a beautiful image of the Virgin Mary [it was a rad tattoo].  Anyway, I was posting some things that Mother Mary wouldn't ever post, especially after I spoke about someones mummy.  A feeling came over me that the Virgin Mary was upset with me so I changed my avatar on here because that was the only thing I could think of where I may have been a lil naughty.

So for those of you who have avatars of saints or things holy, watch what you post.

and otherwise things or people representing my fondness for Russia or Bollywood and faith.

Why are you fond of Russia?  Just curious, I tried asking in a message but you can't receive them.

Mine was made for me by a friend who no longer posts here, it's based on my household at Frannie U, Servants of the Savior. I like it, but more importantly I keep it to remember the person who made it for me.

Right now I have a baby orca and a mama orca swimming in a circle. It reminds me of the relationship babies have with their mothers, with the mom and baby harmonizing and following and learning from each other, and that relationships are always moving and changing.

Other times I pick a color or picture of someone that gives a first impression I want people to associate with me.

I like your avatar. Although the whales are not the same size or it looks like one is further back it reminds me a bit of yin and yang.
