HopefulHeart Posted October 28, 2015 Share Posted October 28, 2015 Perhaps you could start by making a pie with only a bottom crust and a crumb topping. That way you have the challenge of making homemade pie crust but you don't have to go through the difficulty of getting the top crust right. Also, especially if you have a crumb pie, you may want to put a piece of foil on the oven rack under the rack where your pie is baking.
