As exciting as space exploration is, more an more it just seems to be planets too far away that could be " earth like ".

It does make me wonder though, if resources / technology// scientists from all over the world, and were financially backed by their respective governments, could some kind of exploratory space ship be built to get to Andromeda  ( which i think is the closest system ) to investigate what habitable planets are there. At the very least a probe that could send information back with in a human life time.

Andromeda is the closest galaxy. Ain't no one getting there and back anytime soon. Closest system is Alpha Centauri, which is a little over a modest 4 lightyears away, so if you had a probe that could approximate the speed of light it would be a nice 4-5 year trip for the probe. Of course, you'd have to take into account the time-dilation (I'm not physics smrt enough to calculate that bananas) plus the 4 year return trip of the information. Also I don't think there are any planets at AC.

Smells like a scam to me.

At this point in time i do believe the Mars One Project is a scam and will be interested to see if a lawsuit develops at some point against them for taking applicants money.

Well there ya go, probe away, what i have learned is that as of yet nothing can reach the speed of light, but I think it would be reasonable at this stage in society to make a global effort to do advanced space exploration, and it would be more exciting to me to see the world coming together to make a feasible probe to make  either a one way trip that can beam back information , or a round trip.
