hopeful1
Hello, i come in peace and have a question for our friendly protestants bros and sis's (or anyone else that would like to answer). i often hear some of my protestant friends refer someone as a "prayer warrior". Please correct me if i'm wrong, but my understanding of this (lack of better word) title is that the person is percieved by others to have a very strong relationship with God/Jesus and others believers will ask that person to pray for them because they think (or subconsciously think) that their prayers are very powerful because of their relationship. does this basically describe the gist of this concept, or is there more to it? how far off am i? Quietfire
Hey, that's a new one for me. I'll be watching this topic. Peace.
Archbishop 10-K
Based on my experience, a "prayer warrior" is just a casual term for someone who prays very frequently or intensely. I believe the term can be applied to Catholics as well, it's just not used as much (kind of like the words "born again." We believe in it, but we perceive it differently/use different vocab.) cmotherofpirl
A prayer warrior is someone who prays for a specific group of people every day. Someone who prays te rosary everyday would be a prayer warrior. I belong to this group: http://www.pwhs-mfi.org/ In addition I belong to a group that prays specifically for priests every Thursday, and against abortion every Saturday. point5
Yeah I wouldn't classify this as a protestant term. It's a good thing and we have em too whether we call em that or not...we all should be prayer warriors, I need to work on that more. -Kiel
cmotherofpirl
All the enclosed orders of priests and nuns are the true prayer warriors. Day and night for all of their professed lives they pray for the world. Which is probably why the world is still here.....

hopeful1
ok, thanks for the clarification! I've heard the term used occasionally by catholics, but i was led to believe that it was a term that was used more prevailently in protestant circles. but the definition did help alot. i asked because i thought it might be a way to help explain the role of mary as intercessor into perspective for my presentation, and i suppose the term still applies. I just wanted to make sure that i got this right so when i give it, we'd all be on the same page.
