Oremus Pro Invicem
Before the Pope's encyclical Laudato Si, Jeb is quoted saying: “I hope I’m not going to get castigated for saying this by my priest back home, but I don’t get economic policy from my bishops or my cardinals or my pope,” Bush said. “And I’d like to see what he says as it relates to climate change and how that connects to these broader, deeper issue before I pass judgment. But I think religion ought to be about making us better as people and less about things that end up getting in the political realm.” The underlined portion, IMO, makes we worried that Jeb will not be taking his Catholic Faith into office with him. Classic Americanism. Unfortunately most, if not all Catholic politicians in the US have probably internalized it in some form. dUSt
I don't like any of the candidates. Actually, my dream is for Joe Biden to meet with the pope, come out against abortion after the meeting, and run for president. lol
Gabriela
I think the Pope should make a visit to Deez Nuts. He's the best thing going so far.

LOL, obviously you aren't aware that "Deez Nuts" is primarily a sophomoric and extremely crude phrase from an old Dr Dre song, The Chronic. Winchester
Winchester I thought alot about your post last night. I think that your view is very polarized and very short-sighted. There were many things wrong with the Korean War and there were even more things wrong with the post 9-11 wars, but lets not forget at least the latter were because a few thousand Americans got blown up. Gitmo is a travesty, but let's not forget that while Obama "followed his word" and "shut it down" in 2009 he pretty much reinstated everything in 2011. Bush may have started it, but it's been nearly 8 years that Obama has been in office, more than enough time for him to shut it down...and still it lingers as one of his "regrets" We now have a crisis in Syria and Russia where people are being "cleansed" from their homes, in both countries it's moderate but faithful Moslems and certain types of Christians. In Syria we have atleast 1/10th of the population leaving the country. In comparison that'd be like the entire population of New York City and Chicago leaving the US as well most of the state of Texas. This is INSANITY. Yet we are doing nothing to help people remain in their homes whilst Putin gives barrel bombs out like candy to Syrian forces. Sometimes, there is no good answer. Certainly boots on the ground would stem the tide of the evil forces in the Middle East. Many were kept at bay for years. Can there be peace without war? I don't think ISIS things so, I'm pretty sure Putin dosn't think so either. So how do we ensure the liberties of our foriegn brethren? I'm not sure, but I'm not convinced that no war is an answer either. This idea that the political class wages war to protect freedom has really got to go. If you're a utilitarian, it makes perfect sense that you would approve of US foreign policy (at least domestically. If you were a utilitarian in, say, Iraq, you likely wouldn't). I'm not a utilitarian (in theory. It's not like I'm living in the woods and not paying taxes, or anything), so I don't approve. "We"? I'm not over there, but thank you for being over there and trying to help. I hope you're safe. Blaze, Jeb, as governor of Florida (99-07), played no role in sending Federal troops to Iraq. Talk about vomiting propaganda. I didn't say he did. There is no solution. Nothing will change. But at least I can piss a few nationalist swine off. Gabriela
LOL, obviously you aren't aware that "Deez Nuts" is primarily a sophomoric and extremely crude phrase from an old Dr Dre song, The Chronic. Actually I'm really into gangsta rap, so I am aware of that. It doesn't change the fact that the farm kid is making a very important point that our politicians and society as a whole need to hear. Anomaly
Actually I'm really into gangsta rap, so I am aware of that. It doesn't change the fact that the farm kid is making a very important point that our politicians and society as a whole need to hear. and what is that "important" point? That 5% to 8% of the populace are so stupid they would support anything based on a superficial awareness? Lol. Politicians and marketing already know and take advantage of shallow mentality. Visit his website. He's as pro immigrant as Trump. He rejects Christian values on marriage and abortion. He feels USA's wealth and power does not mean we also have a responsibility to be a positive influence in the world community. Yeah. The Pope needs to consult with this guy. Or or am I misreading your post and have mistaken ignorance for brilliant trolling?
