That IS a big one!

I had some pretty big ones banging themselves against my windows when I lived in the Australian bush but not as big as in the video. I worried they might actually break the glass though there were so many of them. This photo shows a dead one on the ground, size compared with a leaf and a 20 cent coin. The ones at my place were all this size or larger. Really creepy when I would go out to the generator shed, and they would fly around my head! I don't know why God created insects. There must have been some other way to balance nature out?

Who wouldn't want one?

I normally don't think moths are scary (at least the moths in America), but that thing would scare me to death if it flew against my window.

Dinosaurs. But they died.

Discipulus Romae

I was camping in the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation this summer, and we saw quite a few lunar moths.  If a moth can look pretty, it pulls it off nicely.

(Not an actual picture of one I saw.   Just here for reference ;) )

This thread reminded me of this.

PS: I don't endorse everything C&H makes, but I thought this one was funny.

...I was not expecting that. In fact, I was expecting a combo of Batman and the Mothman.

That moth in the OP is huge! Not something I would want to meet unexpectedly on a dark night.

The topic title also made me think of the Mothman. My dad and I kinda want to stop at Point Pleasant when we next drive through West Virginia. Who knows, we might catch a glimpse of the Mothman himself. :P
