I've delayed posting this because it seemed like every time I've done so something went wrong. My official entrance date into the Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary is the 8th of December.

I've booked my flight and will be getting my visa as soon as my new passport arrives, God willing. I'm working agency shifts at the moment and my lease is up at the end of October. So right now I'm just waiting. I'll be going to stay with my parents for a month beforehand. So, six weeks or so until I go back to Ireland, twelve weeks until I enter.

Great news.....did you get a chance to mark the new Breviary?  Gods Blessing on you and all the Sisters.... PAX

No, I haven't been over to see the sisters this year. I'm sure I'll have plenty to time to do that. God bless and thanks.

:) Prayers for you that the Holy Spirit continue to guide you safely on your way.  You'll be fine.

Thx Vee

I'm SO excited for you!!! This has been a long, tough road for you. Seeing how God has been working in you helps my own faith.

Please forgive my ignorance, but I don't know what it means to "...mark the new Breviary." I do know what a breviary is, but I don't know the significance in this context. Thanks!

The postulants have to mark their breviaries for all the singing so that they know what to do. It's tedious. I have done many, many sets! When I was in the novitaite we had enough old sets and I would be assigned to do them as the "oldest' novice.

When the new edition comes out (2020?) I hope they are marked for singing like the editions are in England. But we'll all still need to mark them for the responsories, etc.

After 25 years I STILL find marks in my book that are wrong. No, I didn't have to mark mine! I got an old set. The pages are quite worn. They make me look holy! :hehe2::dance3:

SIB,

Are your Sisters in New Jersey or Ireland?

New Jersey but I'm Irish. And to confuse things further there is a Dominican monastery in Ireland, Siena, which is absolutely wonderful and I would recommend that you all visit it if you ever get the opportunity.
