Cyber Gaming... A Job?

There are some ppl who think Cyber gaming isnt a real job..... And they also tell you to get a life. Some may tell you to go out and get a real job at the sports store.

Cyber gaming is a real job if you know how to make it into one. Cyber gaming has grown very big in size the past few years. Cyber gaming is just like any other sport out there with sponsors, coaches, and salaries. Alot of computer companies support these teams to be the best gamers out there, just like football where you have shoe sponsors supporting their players.

Now if you still dont think it's a real job, there is another gamer. His name is Jonathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel and his job is playing games and selling computers as well as gaming gear and apparel. He has made alot of money through competing in various cyber gaming competitions that he lives off of it.

There are also a few professional cyber athletes who are active in their religion. Danny "fRoD" Montaner is on one of the best teams in the US. He is a catholic and went to a catholic school for most of his life.

Please post your thoughts about Cyber Gaming as a life and job.

im sorry bout i come from the other end of the debate... i use to play games alot with nate (thats how i know him) and i saw how hard it is to get through. Its very unreliable since a team can spit u out faster then ull ever know whereas ajob at a store or buisness is more organized <_< . I dont agree with the type of world that the cyber community promotes either. while i was into it, i was sinning more then i should have been. people are very immature, always talking about sex and sexual ?organs? and are cussing at you nonstop while you play. other then that, the violence that it promotes is not a healthy one in life because while your playing, you start to feel invinsible but then once you get back in real life that feeling goes away *(most of the time). I do not think that this is the best environment to grow in your spirituality and trust me, i know first hand that its a sick and perverted world which im extremely glad i got out of **

- Phil

*I know this guy who plays at school at lunch and after he plays this invinsible feeling stays and he takes it into the real world and gets violent and acts like he still is in a video game

** the only reason i got out of this is because God pulled me out. i gave up internet for lent and if i hadnt done that then i would still be stuck there. If God pulled me out... how can it be a good thing ?

hey nate... no hard feelings, i want this 2 be a clean debate. i just hold the opinion of the other side :\

Hey nates, no hard feelings man but honestly, they are video games, for fun. This cyber world promotes things that lead you down the wrong path. I know this guy "Phil" and he was deep into it, things weren't looking good. He was pulled out, and changed he is. Why would u want to make money playing video games, when you sit in front of a computer playing games. It's not real and there's is a community/economy around games like counter-strike. Good Lord, how many people have been sucked in to this community of people who all do nothing but games. It's funny though, people who are in the community don't see how bad they are in it. They deny it. Best of luck to you "true gamers."

working at a software company as a game tester may be different from being a cyber gamer I think, and might not put one into that community
