Places for personal retreat

I have never posted a topic on here before so I hope that I chose the right phorum!

I have not taken a vacation in several years and have some time coming up towards the end of the month that I would be able to sneak away for a week or so. I am also supposed to make a retreat once a year and have only been able to make a short one in the past three years. It is difficult for me to go away on vacation or retreat with my job and I have been working overtime in order to take the time off.

I know that I am saying vacation and retreat. Let me explain, to me going on a retreat would be like a vacation. I am discerning religious life and am also a youth minister. I am at a point where I really need to make a retreat. I live in Mississippi and would prefer to go on retreat nearby. I do not make a lot of money so it would need to be a place that does not cost a lot. I will make the sacrifices to go but need to be aware of my budget.

Do you have any favorite places that you like to go or places that you recommend? I would be driving and would like to stay a minimum of four days. A week would be preferable. Do you know of any places that provide private retreats or even silent retreats for groups of people?

You're in Mississippi. In know of retreat locations in surrounding states. Which one is closest will depend on where you are in Mississippi. Prices vary.

I have tried to contact the Visitation Sisters before to go on a retreat and could not reach anyone. I did visit several years ago to drop someone off for a retreat and it was beautiful. I will have to try again!

The Monastery in Louisiana looks interesting and would not be too far of a drive.
