Ffkes ranten zo: Wat voor mafkees - is dat racistisch of aanstoodgevend of nog wel wat? - denkt nu dat óf Nederland óf België waffle-sized is? Ik kan er tuurlijk wel naast zitten, in welk geval ik dan twee vragen heb: Is De Waffle de groote van Nederland, of België? (of allebei? beide samen?) Mag ik een stukje? Met chocoladesaus en ijs, graag, dank u wel. Mmmmm. Nu wil ik wel een dagje Brugge om een choco-café eens te bezoeken. O ja en het basiliek natuurlijk. Maar ook een café. Lekkah! Of ze bedoelde dat het land - maakt niet uit welk, vergeleken met de VS zijn ze blijkbaar allebei lachwekkend klein, natuuuuuuuuuurlijk - zo piepklein is. Nou ja. Dat zegt dan veel meer over haar. En wellicht ook over de VS. ^ Voor diegenen die niet op de hoogte zijn, is dit een kaart van België en de Nederlandse provincies Limburg, Noord-Brabant, Zeeland en een stuk Zuid-Holland. I have no idea what the post says, but like Ash Wednesday, this picture has brought on serious cravings for foods I'm not allowed to eat. Just looking at the picture, I am close to being in diabetic coma and my fatty liver disease may have returned. After seeing this picture, my doctor has now forbidden me from visiting Belgium. (I have pretty good self-control, but not THAT good.) To protect my soul from "photo-induced gluttony," I try not to look at pictures of food. For anyone who is physically able to eat treats such as this without causing physical harm to themselves, please don't take this gift from God for granted (partly because this gift may be taken away as you get older, as it was for me) and enjoy at least one bite in my honor. I had planned to kiddingly call pictures like this one "food pornography" because they induce in me lusts for certain foods I can't have. However, I was afraid that this would result in serious debates about how the two things are not the same (I agree!--of course they aren't) and that I need to take pornography more seriously (I DO take it seriously!) <sigh> Sometimes it's hard to make a joke on Phatmass....
