franciscanheart
Anyone wear any form of medical ID? I ordered a bracelet yesterday because it was a cheap option ($30 after shipping) and I could fit all my really important info on it. I am looking into other options, however, because there will definitely be times that I don't want a black rubber bracelet on my arm. I no longer have the luxury of not wearing medical ID (not that I ever really did, but I definitely don't now) and so I'm hoping to find some suitable options. It can't hurt to have several! I looked at a "dog tag" pendant from James Avery but I can't get all my necessary info on the back. Any ideas? What have you tried? Thanks in advance! KnightofChrist
I just have the old fashioned metal bracelet that pinches my arm and is highly annoying. But if you have a lot of info you need to put on a Med ID you can get a necklace/dog tag/bracelet one that also has a USB drive. There are also USB versions that are the size of a credit card. They are simple to find on the interwebs by Googling. https://www.google.com/search?q=medical+id+necklace+usb&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#tbm=shop&q=medical+id+dog+tag+usb https://www.google.com/search?q=medical+id+necklace+usb&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=medical+id+necklace+usb&tbm=shop
franciscanheart
Yes, I know they are easy to find. I'm hoping to talk to people who wear their IDs daily, however, and might have some suggestions on what to get or not get based on personal experience. I just thought the USB would help with the lack of space.
Makarioi
Glad you asked the question, Fransciscanheart, as I need one myself. These companies are the only 2 that I'm aware of: I'm going to get one from Road ID and put it on my bicycle and I like the stretchy band one from Medic Alert. I guess there's a fee, but I'll look into that!
franciscanheart
I ordered the Road ID band mostly for when I'm cycling. (Most of my major injuries have been incurred on a bike...) I'm hoping to have another for just regular use (say, when I got to a wedding or a job interview).
Makarioi
I typed 'medic alert bracelet' in Google and hit the shopping header ( inadvertently) and I was surprised to see that there's a bunch there from many companies: Etsy, Walter Drake etc. I still like the stretchy bracelet from Medic Alert though! franciscanheart
I really liked the testimonial I read that said they put these IDs around their baby's ankle. How clever! I also just realized I should probably put "Catholic" on any dog tags I end up ordering. I don't always wear medals or a crucifix or anything else that would signify in case of an accident... Winchester
My manufacturer has installed a program called "Flare". If I malfunction, my location is transmitted via cellphone, radio, and satellite relay to Cyberdyne Systems. A simple processor independent of the rest of my OS and power supply can transmit a verbal warning not to approach or in any way tamper with me. I'm not sure if this would work for you, but the cost is 3.56 million dollars plus 35.99 monthly monitoring fee. This comes with a three year warranty (non-transferable) with the option to renew at a cost of 35,000 dollars per year.
franciscanheart
Next ID I find that allows me ample characters is getting "I AM CATHOLIC CALL A PRIEST" on it.
franciscanheart
My brilliant friend Kristina suggested I just order another name plate! SO SMART. I didn't even think of it (obviously). So I ordered two new name plates. Name, date of birth, medical history (epilepsy, asthma, etc), allergies, current Rx, emergency contact numbers, DNR orders, and "I AM CATHOLIC. CALL A PRIEST." So excited to get them. Love the quality of this bracelet so I'll probably order another when I get my fitbit!
Winchester
You're going to need more wrists. There are some excellent models available from Weyland-Yutani.

Winchester
Maybe a tattoo instead?? She already has one. It's me skipping through a field of clover, with a kitten tucked into the crook of my right arm.
