juchu
... to broaden a bit the horizon... I would like to draw your attention to a meeting in Taizé that I was lucky enough to attend: http://taize.fr/fr_article19244.html We were over 350 young religious people, coming from different confessional backgrounds. The majority was roman catholic though. But at those pictures (taken by a professional photographer, she did a great job) you can see the diversity of religious life: https://www.flickr.com/photos/wiesia/sets/72157655172687259/ On the Taizé homepage, the interventions will be published on the site and are really worth reading. For example there was the Brother Bruno Cadoré Dominican Master of the Order, Father Adolfo Nicolás, Superior General of the Jesuits, Little Sister Maria-Chiara, Superior General of the Little Sisters of Jésus, Michael Anthony Perry, Minister General of the Franciscans and many more... In french there are already some more interventions able to read, but there are also already some in english. There will be more with the time. http://www.taize.fr/es_article19332.html
marigold
Ah, Pere Symeon, of course! I don't recognise the sisters, though. Did you have a good time?
juchu
Ah, Pere Symeon, of course! I don't recognise the sisters, though. Did you have a good time? Yes, a very, very good time! If you mean the two orthodox sisters at the round table, it is Mother Iakovi, abbesse du monastère de saint Jean le Précurseur à Akritochori en Grèce with a sister of her community. Up to now her talk only is available in french: http://taize.fr/IMG/pdf/15.07.07_mere_iakovi_fr.pdf

josephine
mm, i did see some franciscans, the little sisters of Grandchamp, the little sisters of Jesus, the diaconesses, sisters of st John, trappists, Tiberiade, Dominicans, orthodox brothers and sisters... and than i gave up last week, i was able to visit Taize for the first time and i was able to watch the preview of a new movie about the life of frère Roger. I was absolutely touched by the life this community strives for, and still am unpacking all the graces i received. it is so weird to be surrounded by thousands of people you don't know, in the middle of nowhere, living a very simple life (the food, no alcohol, no wifi, sitting on the floor etc. etc, try explaining that this will be your 'fun holiday' to your friends ) and to find so much love/friendship/companionship, joy, inspiration, generousity. to juchu, i can only imagine how beautiful it must be to meet so many other young people in formation!
