Kitties have worms

I'm so heartbroken.  I have faithfully taken them to the vet twice, administered their dewormer as scheduled, and still...they have worms.  It freaked me out, because I've never seen the worms squirming in their stools before tonite.  

 

I've had these little buddies with me for a little more than 2 months now, and they've become a big part of my household.  Please pray they get free from worms and that they aren't contaminating my house with worm eggs and what not.  I've had them sleep with me in my bedroom a few nights this past week.  Now they are sticking to their bedroom but have roamed around the  house for as long as I've had them.  Never ever seen the worms before tonite.    I dont' know the protocol, how do you handle kitties with worms?    I'm calling my vet on Monday.  I want to hug them and play with them as I have before :'(
