Sexual Dreams?

I'm wondering if in a dream (not a daydream, but a fully unconscious at-night brain running wild type dream) there is sexual content, if that constitutes a sin? I dreamt once that I masturbated and I woke up thinking I had and feeling horrible until I realized that I hadn't. If you don't mean to dream it, is that a mortal sin, venial, what?

On the whole, the answer is no; sexual dreams are not sinful, so there's no need to worry. It's a natural psychological process that our minds run through every so often, especially when there's a huge amount of horomonal upset in the body.

The only way it could be construed as sinful is if, for instance, before one went to bed, one thought of impure things or something of the like in order to have impure dreams; even then, one is making a conscious effort to do something unconsciously - which is not what you've described. Peace.
