I guess I should have made a DC leaves thread but if I continued posting there I would have never actually left... -_-

cartermia
Welcome back DC! What do you plan on majoring in?
DiscerningCatholic
For right now, theology and music. I've been having trouble with my thumb and wrist that has been making playing really hard/painful/impossible so I don't know if I'll be able to keep the music major. Seven77
And here I was hoping that this would be a thread about DC comics dumping the new 52 line up and going back to the way things were…

cartermia
Oh DC that is awful! Sending up some prayers for a recovery! You are planning on majoring what I like! I don't know if I would like to major in theology or philosophy more! What area of music (sacred, classical, etc) have you been studying primarily? DiscerningCatholic
Piano performance, I guess. I was never classed as a "piano performance major" but I'm not music ed so I guess that's what i am. lol I have horrible performance anxiety - to the point that practicing in my own house when my family members are home - so if I have to drop the major it may be for the best. Performances last semester were an absolute nightmare. -_-

IgnatiusofLoyola
For right now, theology and music. I've been having trouble with my thumb and wrist that has been making playing really hard/painful/impossible so I don't know if I'll be able to keep the music major. I'm SOOO sorry to hear that--it must be awful for you since music is so much a part of your life. I hope that there are options such as rest, physical therapy, etc. that could possibly help. Do you sing? That's not the same, and it might not help you in keep a music major, but at least it would allow you to be part of a group that creates music. (I learned how to sight sing and joined the University Chorus (a for-credit class) in college because I realized in high school that due to having polio as a baby/toddler I would never have the manual dexterity to play an instrument well enough to play orchestral works. That made me very sad. My voice is not solo quality, but years of playing the cello (badly) at least taught me how to sing on key.)
