HopefulHeart
I enjoy watching the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds that visit my family's hummingbird feeders. They are so small and quick! Does anyone else find hummingbirds fascinating? (Photo from https://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/ruby-throated-hummingbird)
NadaTeTurbe
They fascinating. And beautifull. I am an avid birdwatcher, and wish I had some hummingbird here. Truly, God gave us a splendid world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUEZkwJulBY
HopefulHeart
Birdwatching is a hobby of mine as well. When I was younger, I wanted to be an ornithologist and live in the woods with the birds! That's a very neat video! It's amazing that those feeders were able to attract so many hummingbirds! I've never tried hand feeding hummingbirds, though I've done it with some small songbirds. NadaTeTurbe
One day, in formation with a psychiatrist, he mentionned birdwatching as a hobby who have a positive effect on depressed people ! I have bird food on my balcony, and I love to watch sparrow eating ! In the city, there's not so much bird, but still, I can see sparrow, goldfinch (my favorite !), tit, and robin. Is there a bird watcher group in your city ? My mom is a member of one. She learnt to draw bird in the same time she watch them ! Maybe you can try one day ? it must be amazing. A friend of mine have blackbird in her garden, who come to eat in her hand.

vee
I remember watching Hitchcock's The Birds and thinking pfft thats not scary. Then I moved and was living in a place that had a real problem with crows getting into the garbage. Big crows that werent always scared of people. I recall the first time I walked past all these crows, at least ten, lined up on a rail and around the garbage. They all stopped and looked at me as I walked past and it was then that I realized what Hitchcock was getting at in his movie! My point with this story is I much prefer watching birds to them watching me!!! I also enjoy watching butterflies and moths etc that are found in a garden. I see all of the birds you mentioned in your post, plus some others. I personally like black-capped chickadees. My family gets a fair amount of "bird action" (as we call it) in our yard. I would love to try hand feeding hummingbirds! It would probably take a while before they were willing to eat from my hand.

Gabriela
I love hummingbirds and have a feeder. I inherited this love (and the feeder) from my dad, who has lots of hummingbird feeders. Hummingbirds are very territorial and will fight over the feeders. They'll even stab each other with their little beaks to keep others away. We've found a few dead hummingbirds underneath of feeders, stabbed by their brethren over nothing more than colored sugar water. Which makes you think those '90s kids in New York killing each other for $250 sneakers maybe weren't such freaks of nature after all. Just sayin'. SilverSeminarian
My mother absolutely LOVES hummingbirds. For Mother's day, my brothers and I got her a feeder. She sits out on our porch and just watches them.
marigold
I love hummingbirds but you never see them where I am now. There is, however, a river with a small falls where herons like to stand and wait for dinner. They don't really 'do' anything, but I think they're so beautiful and prehistoric-looking! I also love the robins that come to my dad's garden.
