MarysLittleFlower
One day Jesus helped me to write this poem, and I didn't want to share it with anyone except a close friend, but then thought maybe He wouldn't want me to hide it for all my life. Just to clarify, this was neither "revealed" in some extraordinary way (in case there's any confusion about how I think Jesus helped me), nor am I naturally a poetry writer. My poetry in high school was actually very bad. With this, the words just came, which doesn't happen often. It's funny I actually had a different plan for it at first, but it turned out like this. I hope that it might encourage someone, or whatever reason I was inspired to write it (it is on my blog, I don't mind sharing it here, if that's allowed). https://maryslittleflower.wordpress.com/2015/06/29/the-spouse-of-christ/ Edited June 29, 2015 by MarysLittleFlower

sr.christinaosf
Thanks for sharing. It's neat to see another 'regular person' (not a professional writer) writing spiritual poems spontaneously. I do that once in a while, also. I like to do it in chapel, I do it more readily when I feel drawn to and am in the mood. Maybe that would be a thread to start. MarysLittleFlower
amesome! The poem is wrote how St.Therese would've wrote it. Oh well that's a praise I don't deserve but I don't attribute the poem to any poetry talent I have to say I love St Therese's poetry. And St Therese
HopefulHeart
What a beautiful poem! I have written a couple of poems about consecrated life. I think of the writing as a form of prayer.

I'd appreciate any feedback too if you have it Sr Christina, I would love to read your poems if you would be comfortable sharing them here God bless! We're celebrating St. Anne's Week here at St. Anne's Guest Home - here's a poem I wrote a couple years ago for that occasion. - it's kind of long, though! Poem in Honor of Saints Anne & Joachim(based on early legends)We make a special point each yearTo honor Anne, our patron dearWhen e’er her feast day comes aroundJoy and fun times will abound. This week we’ll honor Sts. Joachim and Anne. They had a special place in God’s plan.Though old and childless they’d becomegrandparents of His only Son. We don’t know much about this pairbut generous love they both did share. With a special daughter they were blestAnd ancient tales tell us the rest. They were both from David’s clan,This old woman and old man.One eve while praying in the hillsJoachim heard news his heart to thrill. At the same time his holy wifeheard some news that changed her life. She was taking a garden strollwhen from her eyes great tears did roll. — A nest of young birds she had seen, making her sorrow very keen.Seeing these babies pierced her heartlike a stinging little dart. For she wanted a babe of her ownOne to be her own flesh and bone. For this favor the couple did pray, pleading for it every day. To both, separately, an angel did speakOff’ring the favor both did seek, telling then that their prayer’d been heardthough at their age it seemed absurd. Anne was told a daughter she’d bearwho would be blest through ev’rywhere. She then met Joachim at the gateand with him did jubilate. Mary was born, and at three years of ageher life’s story turned a page. Now in the temple she would live; Her life to God she’d surely give. Her parents brought her there one day,in God’s presence to work and play. They gave her wholly to the Lordwhom they both faithfully adored. Thus goes the story of that holy pairTheir longed-for daughter they did share. And in due time they both becameGrandma and Grandpa, called by name. MarysLittleFlower
Here is a poem I wrote for the Sacred Heart feast day... https://maryslittleflower.wordpress.com/2015/06/11/the-sacred-heart-our-home/ "Sweet Jesus, make Thy Heart my home, Where all life’s troubles cease There dwelling hidden with Thee alone, In ceaseless love and peace. There, I’ll count each precious beat Of my Redeemer’s Heart Conquered, lost in His Mercy sweet, Our hearts never apart. Yet if Thy Heart’s oppressed with woe, Absorbed in bitter pain, As Thou look down on men below Who mock Thy kingly reign Let me, dearest Love, console Thee then, As I Thy tears see, And make it the sweetest hour when, My heart’s a heaven for Thee.”
