beatitude
This is the third sarcastic thread you've made lately. What are you expecting to achieve by them? This is a Catholic board and you already know what people are going to say. It seems like you're just wanting people to rant with. Praying about what you read in the press is always better than ranting about it to others, I've found - better for you, and better for the person you're praying for. Yaatee
http://www.examiner.com/article/obama-americans-need-to-shift-religious-views-to-accept-gay-marriage According to the secular priest of our times, turns out not only are we wrong for clinging to guns and religion, but now we really need to just grow up as americans and shift our religious views... who knew. praise to obama and his almighty party of progressive socialism. This is not what Obama said. He said that we should be open to diverse opinions. NO one has to change his religious beliefs, and no religious minister has to bless a gay couple's union, let alone marry one. Many churches have decided to do so, but this is beside the point. The views of the RC, some Anglicans, and the Orthodox are settled, period. Super, I don't know how you spend your time or why you're spending so much of it on these stupid rants. If you pursue religious life, you aren't going to to be asked to have anything to do with gays, if you don't want to. However, your congregation does sometimes assume pastoral duties, and, if so, you might run into them--gasp, horror!--gays, that is, and should know how to at least not, like, attack them, you know. --shouldn't you be studying theology or something? This is a Catholic board and you already know what people are going to say. It seems like you're just wanting people to rant with. We're watching the en-tar nation go to hell on a Harley right before our very eyes, and a guy can't go off on a rant or two? And these are even very rant-y rants - they're more like complaints. (If you want to see a rant, I'll be happy to show you. I'm doing my best NOT to rant these days.) Let him get it out of his system for God's sake. Let him get it out of his system for God's sake. No one needs my permission to post so it's not a question of me 'letting' Super do anything - if his novice master and abbot are happy with him posting this type of thread, he's fine, as they're the only ones he owes obedience to. But I will admit that personally I struggle to see why a postulant in a monastery would spend his time posting sarcastic threads (and it seems specifically looking for news articles that are going to upset him). Didacus
No worries - when that lady Clinton gets in the White House, she'll make everything right again.
