obedience to God and parents

I just wanted to check my understanding... If a parent asks you to sin, whether mortal or venial, its still right to follow God first and that is our obligation yes? Probably answer same for children and adults but I'm asking about adults. Thank you!

Sin, either mortal or venial, is wrongful under any and all circumstances.  There might be some circumstances that mitigate culpability or seriousness of the sin and this is best assessed by one's confessor in Confession.  I think if one is involved in a moral situation and is unsure, the best and most reliable response will come from one's confessor.
