IgnatiusofLoyola
Lands' End has a very large selection of swimwear that, while not as modest as the Islamic swimwear in the Web site above, is still much more modest than much of the swimwear found elsewhere, and is still stylish. One item I particularly like is the Swim Tee. It's a long-sleeved T-shirt made of swimsuit material intended to be worn over your bathing suit, but suitable to wear while swimming, too. It is not only modest, but offers sun protection. I believe (not positive) that swim tees are offered for both mean and women. www.landsend.com Personally, I dislike it when other people want to tell me what is appropriate to wear for swimming. I am an adult and can make my own decisions about what is appropriate. For me, it's an issue of finding swimwear that is flattering, makes me feel comfortable, and is made of a material that is safe for swimming. As a woman well over 40, part of my concern is that I don't want to sight of me in a swimsuit to cause too much stress to young men and women by reminding them that, "In a blink of an eye, you too will look like this." However, I get very offended when young people express the opinion that people over 40 shouldn't be allowed to go swimming because of the way they look. Swimming is fun and good exercise for all ages. We ALL age and will eventually die. Get used to it.
CrossCuT
I really enjoyed Land's End top/bottom match ups for tankinis. They have quite a wide selection but they are often quite expensive. Ive been noticing however that in general stores like Kohls or other places, their bathing suit selection is quite a bit better than it used to be. Ive found tops and bottoms that Ive felt comfortable in without having to show off all my flab.

However, at Lands' End, if you sign up for their email list, they have almost constant sales. I frequently get emails offering 30%, even 40% discounts. Also LE swimsuits are well-made so they hold up better than cheaper suits that can fade etc. and there is no need to shop for swimwear every year. I don't usually shop at Kohl's, but I'm glad to hear that they are offering a better selection of tankinis and all their variations. I also saw inexpensive, modest swimsuits in the OneHanesPlace catalog, but personally, I thought they were unattractive compared to Lands' End. Still, if you found one that you liked, the prices were good. Edited June 26, 2015 by IgnatiusofLoyola
