Thoughts from Christ / God ( or just wishful thinking )

So,  fairly easy to pin things down if Christ or God is speaking to us in our thoughts, we are not thinking or having a voice say we are the chosen one and go an find a horse an carry a sword etc...

But through discerning, prayer, adoration, etc, all the valid good an true things we should be doing.... when we have a good thought, or perhaps we have an intuition to do something or not, are we to recognize at that particular moment that it is Christ / God who has reached us and moved us or given us a thought in our physical mind....  or if it is just a physical thought, do we just smile an go awww what a nice thought and move on.........

are there legit books close to this subject on how to discern such things, or anything official from Rome..... ?

Well, everything good comes from God, so whether it's him zapping a particular idea into our heads from one moment to the next, or whether it's something I've decided based on my own conscience and backed up by the Scriptures, writings of the holy fathers, examples from saints' lives etc., it's ... all good. Literally. :)

Credo in Deum

One of the best ways to find out if what you have received is from God or not, is to speak with a competent spiritual director.

Many times I have the same concern. I need to ask myself, is this my want or what God wants.

I highly recommend a spiritual director as Credo stated.  I also recommend this book,
