IgnatiusofLoyola
i TAKE IT BACK....THIS MONDAY SUCKED. lol Monday sucked for me, too. It took the oral surgeon a whole hour to pull out one tooth--it was VERY stubborn! Today I feel like dirt.

IgnatiusofLoyola
Did he pull the right one? Thank goodness, yes! If I had gone through all that for nothing I would have been very upset! The oral surgeon is excellent (he has both a DDS and an MD). It's just that the tooth was a molar with very long, curvy roots so the surgeon had to do a lot of drilling to get all the last bits of tooth out of the roots. (I'm glad I had my eyes closed, and my headphones on because it seemed like a very difficult and exacting process.) Some people get extra anesthesia when they go to the oral surgeon, but that cost so much extra that I did it with only local anesthesia (the same as if I were getting a tooth filled). It didn't hurt at all (and with just a little Tylenol the wound doesn't hurt today). However, the procedure took a lot out of me because I'm not in the best of health to begin with. One thing I really like about this oral surgeon is that because he is also a doctor, he doesn't just concentrate on my teeth, and understands that a long oral surgery is tough on my whole body. Unfortunately, I have two teeth left to be extracted. We were going to try to do all three yesterday, but after the surgeon was finished with the first tooth, he said my body needed to rest before we did the other two. I definitely agreed!! dominicansoul
Yikes! Just hearing about it gave me some pain. I'll pray you feel better and that the next two extractions won't have complications.

Thanks! I'd appreciate it! I don't have the next appointment scheduled, but I'll let you know. I've been praying a lot to St. Appolonia, and I have to say she has really come through for me. For those who don't know St. Appolonia, she is the patron saint of dentists and dental patients. Depending on the account, before St. Appolonia was put to death for her faith, they either pulled out or knocked out all her teeth. That is true suffering for the Lord! TheresaThoma
Iggy it definitely sounds like you have earned a couple of days at least to curl up and do next to nothing. I was put under general sedation to have all four of my wisdom teeth out and even with that it took a good week to be back to normal. And I was in good health!
