marigold
I disagree. Far better to have chant in the background than this. Well, everything is relative.

marigold
Do we think that effective evangelisation is more a matter of bearing than message? Honest question. I mean the difference between Abrasive Abner and Graceful Gabby seems to be that Gabby 'just acts normal' and comes across as socially relaxed rather than either too timid or aggressive. PhuturePriest
Right back atcha, my little Latin buddy <3 Do we think that effective evangelisation is more a matter of bearing than message? Honest question. I mean the difference between Abrasive Abner and Graceful Gabby seems to be that Gabby 'just acts normal' and comes across as socially relaxed rather than either too timid or aggressive. Honestly, I really do think it depends on the person we're evangelizing to. So often we have a mentality of "This is the only right way" (of which I am also guilty of), but it really just does depend on the person. With people like me, you've got to be blunt. Don't beat around the bush. Talk to me like a man and say exactly what you think. Perfect examples of my type of preaching are people like Padre Pio and John the Baptist. Others have naturally more sensitive temperaments and this type of straight talk turns them off, so you need to be more flowery with your language and make the message softer in tone. The trouble is towing the line of softening the tone of the message without watering down its substance to make it more palatable. At some point, there is no way to make the core message completely palatable, and you sometimes have to say things that the other person won't like, and in a way that they won't like. PhuturePriest
I have accepted the challenge and am listening to the entire video. I am currently three minutes in. Man, where can I get a crucifix that big to wear under my shirt? I know, right? Mine feels so small now, though I wear it over my shirt.
PhuturePriest
Close to seven minutes in and I'm still shaking with laughter. I think this is proof that I've lost my mind.
PhuturePriest
Had it not been for the fact that I went to Mass today, I would consider those ten minutes the best ten minutes I spent all day. Totally worth it.
