Luigi
Taken from the Facebook page of the Sparkill Dominican Sisters: Marking 800 years since the first community of Dominicans were recognized by the local bishop of Toulouse in 1215, Mass for Pentecost Sunday this year was broadcast from the former Dominican Church in Toulouse. In 1216 Dominic's preachers were recognized by Pope Honorius III as a movement for the whole Church. Today's Mass was one of the first of many celebrations planned around the world for the 800th Jubilee Year for the Order of Preachers (better known as the Dominicans). This Mass was celebrated in the church known as Les Jacobins, where the relics of St Thomas Aquinas rest in the gold casket under the altar. This beautiful liturgy (narrated by Irish Dominican Tom McCarthy) will be available for viewing online for the next three weeks (i.e., until June 14, 2015) at:http://www.rte.ie/player/us/show/10423155/
NadaTeTurbe
Toulouse is my city ! and dominicans are studying in my college ! VIVA TOLOSA ! My city is good at two things : rugby (well, not this year, but i am in denial), and dominicans. Les Jacobins are such a beautiful church, it's a shame they don't use it more often for mass. I wanted to go, but my priest wanted me to serve the mass for Pentecost.
