hands down the priest hood.

your in charge of heaven, God's sacarments, directly working with God Himself, and God's ppl. yes, while parents have the obligation to get their children in heaven, a priest has one to get jesus' flock to heaven.

st. thomas more who was a father of four kids said he would rather be married than having the slightest chance of being a bad priest..

not only taht but the devil attacks them most. the spiritual battle is after priests who are most powerful in defeating evil.

i voted single life because like, priests and marriages always get more prayer intentions than the single ones. Single people it's EXTREMELY easy for them to sin just turn on the TV and bleup, besides its like AVARICE attacks man so hard with work and money, whereas for religious its taken care of i guess you can say

Unless your reason of being called to the single life keeps you busy... it seems like it would be the most difficult

yeah i feel sorry for those called to single life... it doesnt really seem like a vocation, more like a punishment

but I dont believe God would give anyone more than they can handle, or would want anyone to be miserable :)

I didn't vote. The hardest vocation for a person to live, s the one they're not called to. But, even the one you're called to is hard also. All of them are hard and all of them are rewarding in their own ways.

I picked married life. If you are a priest and things don't work out in your parish you can be transferred and still be a faithful Catholic. If you are single you can get up and move and start over, same thing.
But if you are married and take your vows seriously til death do you part, and you have a bad marriage, if you move your problem moves with you, until one of you dies. If you have children, they can be used as weapons against you by your spouse. If you leave your marriage and want a new one, you are penalized by the Church.
Married is much harder than being a priest or a single person.

Good points, Cmom... Maybe marriage can be said to have a two part discernment-- whether to marry and who to marry. There's the possibility of making two mistakes rather than one.

Plus in marriage you don't get to interview and select those little subordinates God sends along the way. And you can't fire them either.

I don't think that this is a fair poll...

Obviously, ALL vocations have their pros AND cons!! Like Thicke was saying, if you're not called to the Priesthood or Religious Life then it will seem MUCH harder than the married or single life you ARE called to!! God gives us the graces to handle the life each and every one of us is called to!!
I look at a priest or my grandmother (a nun) and think that that is a BEAUTIFUL lifestyle, then I see my parents and how happy they are!!!
If we're not called to something it's going to seem hard!!
