Alberto Guimaraes
Peace and Good! Consisted me that Pope Francis ordered the closure of a seminar of the Franciscan Friars of the Imaculate. Will it be the end of the congregation? And what about the Poor Clare Sisters of the Immaculate? We all know that there are many congregations based in the Franciscan message, but each has its own charisma. All are lacking.Jesus, Maria and Francisco bless the whole Franciscan Family!Br. Nihil Obstat
The end of them having any relevance or real growth I would think. Perhaps they can endure long enough to be revived under a friendlier curia.

Kateri89
Wait could somebody clarify this for me because I literally just asked about the status of the investigation in VS a couple of days ago.
veritasluxmea
To answer your question in the VS- Yes, the investigation is still ongoing. They did close a seminary as part of it but are not done with the investigation as of my writing this.

hotpink
I asked my friend about this because I have met those guys at Catholic Underground when I went to NYC. I wish we had them in Oregon. She said that they are remaining faithful during the investigation. That it has to do with some of the superiors banning Mass in English and forbidding postulants to go to Mass in English. That they are allowed to celebrate Latin Mass, but it's being allowed and it is not to be confused with apartments and their rules or something? I forget. She thinks the pope is protecting them from breaking off and doing their own thing like the FXPS or something of the sort or like Martin Luther but backwards cause then they'd be more Catholic than the Pope. I guess the guys who left were very, very mad that they were not standing up to the Pope and only wanted Latin mass and have gone to those non-legit orders who only do Latin Mass. I don't get it. But I agree with you, those guys are pretty cool and they surf and board and play guitar and will make you promise to send them cookies or meat. Or both if you have money. Reminder to self. Send them cookies. If I was Catholic and wanted to be a monk, I'd want to be one of them.
KnightofChrist
The leadership never banned the priests from saying the Mass in the OF.
Nihil Obstat
Many people do not realize, but many or perhaps most priests of the FSSP categorically refuse to celebrate the Novus Ordo. So... yeah. It need not be a sign of unfaithfulness or disobedience.
truthfinder
Unfortunately, the problem seems to be stemming from the idea that because the FFIs were founded as OF community, they cannot shift to an EF one. It's only because the FSSP were founded from the outset as a EF only group that they seem to be getting away with it.

Are you sure you aren't confusing them with the CFR's? http://franciscanfriars.com/ I'm pretty sure the CFR's run the Catholic underground, and the surfing and guitar playing sounds like them.
