Boy Who Died of Meningitus

My cousin's father in law and his live-in girlfriend were raising his girlfriend's grandson. He became very sick and he was misdiagnosed and simply given an antibiotic. They found out too late that he had meningitis and he died. The boy was only 6 years old. My cousin's father in law and his girlfriend may be wondering what they could have done differently to save his life. They thought that they could trust the doctor.
