Journeywithchrist
I became a Catholic this Easter and because I was being baptised, I did not have to make a confession before the vigil and so my priest never really discussed it with me. I have not been to mass in two weeks and I feel that I may need to go to confession because of that. Here's my question (I think it's a pretty silly question, I'm sorry ) is it right to go to confession for just one thing like that? I hope this makes sense. How often should I be going to confession? Thank you! (I hope this makes sense, I just woke up hahaha)
truthfinder
Since missing Mass is a mortal sin, this absolutely should and needs to be confessed. A good examination of conscience may reveal other sins as well. You need to attend Mass every Sunday, and you may not receive Communion until you have confessed missing Mass. Welcome home to the Church, it can take awhile to adjust to Catholic life, so feel free to ask all the questions you need.
