beatitude
As suggested in this thread about Brett Haubrich, a little boy who is suffering from cancer, I'm creating a separate thread so we can make a novena for him. Brett hopes to be a priest or a doctor or an engineer when he grows up. Let's pray for him and for his family to be supported in this difficult time, and to know God's mercy and comfort. His mother seems to have joined us on the forum, posting as @olibreandell mom, so we should welcome her especially. This is a novena prayer to St Raphael, the angel of healing. Glorious Archangel Saint Raphael, great prince of the heavenly court, you are illustriousfor your gifts of wisdom and grace. You are a guide of those who journeyby land or sea or air, consoler of the afflicted, and refuge of sinners. I beg you, assist me in all my needsand in all the sufferings of this life,as once you helpedthe young Tobias on his travels.Because you are the medicine of God,I humbly pray you to heal the many infirmitiesof my soul and the ills that afflict my bodyI especially ask of you the favourof a full recovery for Brett and courage and comfort for his family (use your own words here if you like!)and the great grace of purity to prepare me to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Amen. St Raphael, of the glorious seven who stand before the throne of Him who lives and reigns, Angel of health, the Lord has filled your hand with balm from heaven to soothe or cure our pains. Heal or cure the victim of disease. And guide our steps when doubtful of our ways.

olibreandell mom
Many thanks. We have been praying since diagnosis in June. I put Lourdes Holy Water and some holy water from a local church, St. Josephs on him nightly. We ask for intercession from many saints or soon to be saints: Padre Pio, Mother Clelia, JOhn Paul II, St. Peter Claver, St. Peregrine, St. Anthony, Father Solonus Casey....etc. I appreciate the novenas so much. I know that prayer is the reason he is doing so well. I do find it coincidental that the novena is to St. Raphael. We went to a healing priest at St. James church in Catawissa (MO), Father Mark Bozada, and one of the people praying over us said she felt or saw St. Raphael on Brett's ear, protecting him. Thank you all for helping my son and our family. He is the sweetest boy.

olibreandell mom
Thank you all praying for my son. This past months chemo was the best yet. He was sick only 2 days. Usually he is very sick in bed on day 8 of chemo. But this month he was able to play in his teams first baseball game. UNBELIEVABLE. I know it was all the prayers. Thank you so very much.
