OnlySunshine
I want to thank you for your continued prayers for the health of my gallbladder. My doctor wanted me to sign up at a state hospital in case I need immediate surgery (if I develop acute cholecystitis - God forbid) but I am not a resident in the county where the hospital is located so I don't qualify, unfortunately. However, I knew of a free clinic that provides primary care and referrals for diagnostic testing, so I contacted them. I will be attending the next walk-in day 2 weeks from now to be assessed by the volunteer physician and, hopefully, receive an ultrasound either that day or very soon after. Also, I've noticed a big difference in the way I feel now that I'm on the new diet. It's my own adapted version of the Paleo diet in that I still consume dairy and legumes. I avoid unhealthy fats and eat good fats (saturated and unsaturated). I'm also avoiding all grains (rice, corn, quinoa, amaranth, etc.) since they can cause inflammation in people with gluten allergies and IBS (like me). Since more research is coming out saying that refined carbohydrates are a problem, I'm avoiding all of them. I mainly eat homecooked meals, which is much healthier. I'm not getting nearly as many gallbladder spasms and that full feeling on my right side as I was before adopting this new diet, so something is working.
