Spem in alium
Go for it! Lace doesn't seem to be too expensive, and yes, it is good to see what it feels like before you buy it. I went for something that didn't seem like it was too delicate that it would constantly slip off my hair - but then again, pins are very useful for that reason :)
puellapaschalis
I can't be doing with pins! Irrational fear of stabbing myself. (I thought I'd find a cool pic to put in here to illustrate this fear of mine, and so hit google images - nope nope nope nope nope)
Catlick
Ik dacht het niet, gezien ik een paar keer bij hen voor de H. Mis geweest ben ;) Alleen nu ben ik niet (meer) in de buurt, dus dat is geen optie meer.... Ha, een landgenoot :)

I have one on my blue veil and it works very well. And hey! They only cost a few dollars.
HopefulHeart
I find that using a bit of hairspray prevents my chapel veil from sliding off too easily. :) I believe that my veil was bought at a parish where the Tridentine Mass is said. There was a book table in the vestibule, and I think they sold veils there as well. I'm not sure if there are similar situations elsewhere. kg94
I got my mantilla veils for Church from the St Paul's Bookshop next to Westminster Cathedral in London, UK. Alternatively, you can easily make your own. Just buy a piece of white or black lace and a bit of trimming and cut to your desired style. Could be triangle or semi-circle as a norm, or something different. Otherwise, you can just get a laced scarf? I hope you find what you are looking for, but don't be too concerned about the exterior, more about why you are choosing to veil, and that you are veiled!
