HopefulHeart
I woke up this morning to learn that my community college is closed for a snow day, which is quite rare! Since snow is so common in this area, it is usually not bothersome enough to warrant a college closing. Yay!
ChristianGirlForever
Yay for snow! Enjoy your day off, Hopeful Heart. :). Love the moving photo, by the way! Edited February 2, 2015 by ChristianGirlForever
CatherineM
We never get snow days. If we stopped for six feet of snow, we'd be off for six months.

Thanks! :) And yes, I thought the image would be a nice touch. ;) We never get snow days. If we stopped for six feet of snow, we'd be off for six months. Wow, that's some serious snow! We don't get quite so much, but people at my school still joke about how infrequent snow days are. At the beginning of the semester, one professor basically said, "Now I may have to cancel class for a snow day, but in my 14 years of teaching here there has only been one snow day, so it probably won't happen." Well, he was wrong.
ChristianGirlForever
We were supposed to get an epic blizzard, but it turned into an epic flop. It was the sorriest excuse for a blizzard that I've ever seen! The mayors in the Tri-State Area prohibited all travel and transportation, but it turned out to be for nothing. All we got was six inches of snow and some high winds. It's very pretty today, though. :)

The weather reporters were predicting a major blizzard, but it wasn't much at all. Even the wintry weather we got today was definitely not the worst I've ever seen. Thankfully, it's been a while since my town got a really bad snowstorm. Blame it on global warming. :|
ChristianGirlForever
Long Island got a pretty bad storm. Parts of Connecticut did, too. I think the worst of it was had in the Boston area. I'm grateful to live in an area with very temperate weather. We experience all the seasons, but not in an extreme way. I do love snowy weather, though, so I really enjoyed today's snow. :)

Seeing the seasons go by is very nice. The snow looks very pretty outside today, though I'm glad I don't have to drive or walk in it. XD
ChristianGirlForever
Haha, me, too. It looked as though a giant feather pillow exploded in the heavens. It was gorgeous to watch the snowfall this afternoon. I live rather near The Sound, so I think that contributes to our mild hot and cold weather. If you're land locked you'll get more snow. I always think of the elderly or infirm in this weather. I pray they don't slip and fall. Also, If they live in a house, I hope there is someone to shovel their walkway and driveway. That snowfall does sound nice! I live in western NY, so Lake Ontario provides a lot of our snow. I have been to Long Island, though, in the summer. Yes, winter can be hard for the elderly. I'm glad that my grandparents are in North Carolina, where the weather is much more mild.
ChristianGirlForever
My grandparents were snowbirds, too. :) I've never been to Lake Ontario, but I've heard of it, of course. It must be beautiful where you live!
