Ice_nine
Oh hey, maybe this guy would be a good choice for getting half a yard??? He was just there so he don't get fined.

Archaeology cat
I don't mind Sherman. I feel very sorry for Lane. That looked like some horrible break!
Ash Wednesday
Compton to Stanford is no cakewalk and it probably took some attitude and swagger to survive in Sherman's shoes. He's incredibly self-centered and arrogant, so I'm glad he got a nice humbler last night. It's easy to make statements like that at a keyboard. Would you say that to his face? Or to his parents? http://www.businessinsider.com/richard-sherman-things-you-never-knew-2014-1?op=1 I'm just going to leave this here. P.S.They neglected to mention that he runs his own charity called Blanket Coverage. P.P.S. His father still works because he flat out refuses to live off his son. PhuturePriest
Compton to Stanford is no cakewalk and it probably took some attitude and swagger to survive in Sherman's shoes. P.S.They neglected to mention that he runs his own charity called Blanket Coverage. P.P.S. His father still works because he flat out refuses to live off his son. I'd tell him he needs to be a better sportsman to his face, yes. I'm sure he's a decent person in real life, and he's probably a fun guy to talk to, and it's commendable that he owns a charity. But being decent, fun, and the owner of a charity doesn't somehow transform his douchebaggery into good honest sportsmanship. Would I tell his parents that? No. Why I would I walk up to anyone and say "Hey, you -- Why did you have to suck so much at parenting? Your son's a douchebag."? Case in point: I can't count how many times in real life people have told me I'm a very mature person. The three words my friends used to describe me (I had to ask them for the application into seminary) generally ran along the lines of pious, outgoing, and passionate. Other words were eager, trustworthy, and respectful, and each of them tells me I'm really intelligent and concise. None of that somehow transforms or justifies my sometimes deplorable behavior online. Edited February 3, 2015 by PhuturePriest

PhuturePriest
I'm friends with Kujo on Facebook, and he was a longtime fan of the Seahawks until last night when they instigated the fist fight. I always knew there was a reason to maintain our Facebook friendship.
Basilisa Marie
haha. I think packer nation is probably the only other fan base happy to see seattle lose in such a fashion. But I thought you were from the pacific northwest? Why not a hawks fan? Did you like them before they were famous and sold out to become more radio friendly? I do live in Washington, but my dad is from Wisconsin. No other teams existed in my house while I was growing up. :) I once did a book report on Lombardi's "Run to Daylight: A Week the Life of the Green Bay Packers." And I refuse to even entertain the idea of them "selling out" to become "more radio friendly." :) Blasphemy! :packers: :packers: :packers: Plus Packer fans travel well, we're all over the country. That "Vikings-Steelers-Bengals-Whatever" Family NFL commercial just doesn't make sense to us - how could you possibly abandon your team just because you move? It's a relatively classy fandom that loves the game with a storied history, and most Packer fans are good people. I can't stand a lot of the local Seahawks fans, they're so rude. But that's also because they're so recently popular, they don't have the experience of lots of ups and downs, and it's a lot of younger fans that populate their stadium (older fans have the tickets at Lambeau Field). Hopefully many of the arrogant fans will come out better on the other side of this tough loss.

Ash Wednesday
I'd tell him he needs to be a better sportsman to his face, yes. No offense, but you aren't exactly joining the winning side with much graciousness or class, yourself. You're attacking the character of someone you don't even know in a way that's pretty hypocritical. If you're going to object when people attack Tom Brady's character, look at the other side of the coin because you've done the same thing to Sherman. Merely calling someone out on their poor sportsmanship is fair game -- you can criticize what someone does. But that's a pretty big backtrack from flat out calling him self-centered and arrogant and basically directly attacking his character. I admire Sherman because of his work ethic and rise from adversity. Not that I agree with everything he's done (i.e. soon fathering a child out of wedlock with his girlfriend) but if you get past the swagger, I believe his good qualities far outshine whatever people find questionable. Perhaps at this point it's better to agree to disagree on the matter, but I know that the need to object when someone attacks a person you admire is something you can probably understand. Ash Wednesday
II can't stand a lot of the local Seahawks fans, they're so rude. Don't take it too much to heart, we've just had decades of pent up bad sports frustrations to get out of our system now that we finally remember what it's like to win something. And we're known to be friendlier in eastern Washington. :)

Yeah, I didn't want to actually generalize about friendliness. My tongue is firmly planted in cheek there. :) The sun sure does help, though. I live in England now and I miss that inland sunshine a lot.

I'm not saying anything anyone can't see for themselves. I'm speaking strictly from what he gives us to go on when he plays, and I criticize as not being sportsmanlike, which I am far from the only person who does. His arrogance on the field is apparent. Is he arrogant in real life? Is it all just a show he puts on for the game? I don't know. But that doesn't make what he does arrogance, even if it is faux arrogance.
