in Scripture Jesus tells us that he didnot come to abolish the law, and infact he came to fill it. we are told that we must follow the law. however in acts we are told it is no longer needed, can you clear up this "contradiction" ? thank you

Although Scripture is the Inspired word of God, each letter, each chapter, each verse must be taken in context.

I wouldn't call it a contradiction because they are both communicating the same thing, but the emphasis is different. It is a different time period and the audience is different. The Law that Jesus tells us to follow is based upon the Spirit that communicated those commands. The law by itself with a rejection of Jesus is dead and of no use, and this is what the New Testament letters are trying to communicate. It sounds like a contradiction because of the point of emphasis. Without following the Spirit's lead to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord than following the law is empty. Following the commands are a given and should be apart of the life of one who has opened themselves to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
