Mary+Immaculate<3
Does the devil know the destiny of each person, where he or she will be at the end of time? If so, why does he bother with the ones who will not be in hell?
Luigi
I don't see how the devil COULD know all that. The devil would have to be omniscient to know each person's final fate, and only God is omniscient.
Amppax
No, the devil doesn't. Luigi nailed it.
Oremus Pro Invicem
Echoing what others have said. "But of that day and hour no one knoweth, not the angels of heaven, but the Father alone"--Matthew 24:36 This shows that the angels are only able to know certain things by divine revelation. The devil does not know before hand what the eternal destiny of a person's sould will be, because he cannot read the hearts of men. Only God can read the hearts of men. "I am the Lord who search the heart and prove the reins: who give to every one according to his way, and according to the fruit of his devices."--Jeremiah 17:10 "Then hear thou in heaven, in the place of thy dwelling, and forgive, and do so as to give to every one according to his ways, as thou shalt see his heart (for thou only knowest the heart of all the children of men)"--1 Kings 8:39 This ability to know the thoughts and hearts of men, which only God has, would also be attributed to Christ. "And Jesus seeing their thoughts, said: Why do you think evil in your hearts?"--Matthew 9:
