Ice_nine
leave it to WOMEN to turn a thread about FOOTBALL into one about marriage and children ;) This is what happens when you stop making sammiches. But in any case I'm withholding judgement until all of the facts surface. Should Aaron Rodgers be punished for admitting to over-inflating the footballs and seeing how much the refs allow? Is it possible that, yes OK the balls were under-inflated and the refs before hand just didn't care/were sloppy, and over the course of the first half became deflated a little bit more due to weather and use? and then when the colts said something they checked it? Why is there an immediate assumption that "bellicheat" paid off some ball-boy to needle out air during the game with cameras EVERYWHERE? I think it's haters. Also interesting to note, is that this was discovered and fixed (I assume) at half-time. So the Pats scored less with their cheating balls (tee hee). Maybe the cots should have shut up and they wouldn't have gotten stomped so bad. although, with all that's going wrong in the world, the righteous indignation at this is slightly amusing. It's too bad that it puts a damper on one of the best sporting events of the year tho.

Nihil Obstat
That is part of why I like Formula One. Every team is cheating all the time, so part of it is a competition to see who can get their own particular cheats accepted as legit by the FIA, and how much they can sneak by the stuff that would get them penalized. Then once a season or so, someone (or several someones) pushes the envelope too much and gets penalized. Everyone does it, nobody talks about it, and by and large there is an uneasy equilibrium. Except the small and lower-budget teams cannot afford to cheat as well as the big guys. But that is a different issue entirely.
