MarysLittleFlower
We are called to love true religion :) in Catholicism our rules are not to control but to help us be holy. We have a choice but once we understand the love with which God gave us certain rules we start following Him out of gratitude not only obligation :) the reality is not about control...but neither does it lead to freedom to go against God's laws. Freedom is found in Christ. Following ourselves instead of Him makes us enslaved to our sins and passions. His Will is the only way to be actually free. He is our Father and knows what is best for us. :) we are like little children with Him who trust their Father! Lil Red
If it ceases to be religion then why does the Church defend it ? Even sometimes adamantly or so it seems. Can you post examples of this? Does this happen within your own life, priests and religious people that you meet? Or is this about the institutional Church doing this?
