FutureFranciscan:)
I was wondering if anyone on here has visited the Carmelites in St. Louis, Missouri? I am spending a weekend (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon) with them next month and I am not sure exactly what to expect. This will be my first time visiting a cloister, though I have spent a lot of time with an active Franciscan community and have visited a Missionaries of Charity community. I have desired to visit a cloistered Carmel for awhile now and I am very excited but also a bit nervous. Thank you! God Bless!
Luigi
I've been to the grounds, and the public side of the chapel, but I've never met any of the nuns. It's the second oldest Carmel in the US, and they have a number of recent recruits, so they must be doing something right. They have exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every day from, like 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. or so. I don't think they've ever driven anybody away with a broomstick. I'm sure you'll be fine.
