I daresay it's a better way to spend ten minutes of your time than scrolling down your Facebook feed for the twentieth time today (which I am guilty of doing many times, of course.) 4588686
I was hoping that a old virgin whose jobs revolves around wearing fancy, colorful robes and living off the charity of people who actually work for a living would tell me how to be a real man. franciscanheart
:blink:What I read:Women don't mind when things are easy so they haven't lost much in the Church.Women have ruined our worship.Women don't mind a trite Mass.Women, unlike men, were not really turned off by the "loss of the sacred".It's just a fact that boys don't like girls, so when girls serve in the Church, boys won't.Girls were too good at serving, so boys went to find other things to do.Women might understand the brokenness of our culture, but men understand better. Era Might
Rudyard Kipling - "If" If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream—and not make dreams your master; If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools: If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’ If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it, And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son! Lilllabettt
That poem is a good examination of conscience and provides a great outline of what holiness looks like.

I think you have to be committed to a certain reading of his words to claim that he said "women don't mind a trite Mass." He left himself open to that attack - but I doubt that represents his p.o.v. IDK about the Church giving too much ground to radical feminists -- that seems hyperbolic. But it is true that boys are being left behind in contemporary society - in schools and in church. There's a long way to go before women are treated as equal in dignity to men - but we need to make sure when it does come, it doesn't come at the expense of boys. truthfinder
I haven't read it yet - but to spin Lil's interpretation - I something think women will just put up with junk a lot longer (whether that's in church, relationships, or work etc) because they believe more strongly about the core. Ash Wednesday
Men think that the Mass is feminized and they don’t really understand the powerful manliness of the Mass. I didn't really understand this statement here, attributed to the blogger. In its ideal form, I don't view the mass as having a gender at all, or at the very least, things viewed as both "masculine" and "feminine" are present. Unless he means certain masculine aspects of the mass aren't understood?
Amppax
There's something to a lot of the stuff he's saying, but it seems a tad overstated.

And what is your problem with old virgins? Or do you equate being a "real man" with being immoral and promiscuous? <overcompensating statement>

Winchester
And what is your problem with old virgins?
