HisChildForever
Did you purchase, or create, a wedding gift for your husband/wife? Do share! My fiance told me he's putting together something simple but he's super excited about it (and proud of himself lol) and I want to do something too. I was thinking of purchasing a journal (leather bound) and writing an array of things, ranging from memories and romantic sentiments, to relevant quotes from his favorite authors and the Bible. Something personal and thoughtful. Thoughts? Edited January 4, 2015 by HisChildForever
HisChildForever
Here are my top 2 choices: Choice 1 Choice 2 Please let me know what you think!!
ChristianGirlForever
What a thoughtful, romantic idea, HCF. He will love it. Guys are always touched when their sweetheart remembers all of the significant, sentimental details of their love story. I think the second journal is more sharp and masculine-looking, but that's just me. Congratulations to you and your fiancé!
Amppax
Actually, I preferred the first journal myself. And I think that's a really amesome idea.
Maggyie
I love that first journal!! It's great you are planning ahead. I kept wanting to do something like this but I ran out of time and so the only present we got each other was our wedding rings.
HisChildForever
I actually decided to order the second. :hehe2: I think the first is just as beautiful, but the Celtic knots in particular don't fit him. Plus the second one specifically states the paper is lined.
Ancilla Domini
That is a beautiful idea, HCF! The second one was my favorite, I'm glad you got that one. ;) There was something about it, I don't know what, that just made it look like a good book for that purpose. franciscanheart
They're both beautiful. When I was looking at them (before I saw your post saying you'd already chosen), I went with the one with fewer pages. :P You're a better woman than I, tackling 240 pages of memories and verses! Well, I don't intend to fill up every line...rather, 1-2 paragraphs or quote per page. I feel it'll be less time consuming and stressful to complete by May, and it'll make the journal look simple not busy :) I was thinking of leaving a bunch of blank pages at the end and pre-date them for each upcoming wedding anniversary, and thus add more each year. Say... the next fifty years? :PStill, I don't know that I could do 190. So, good luck!
brandelynmarie
You could even add photos or do collages... What a wonderful idea
beatitude
What a really lovely idea. :) Lots of photos can make a journal very bulky and difficult to flip through (I did a similar project for a friend in hospital once) and I found it worked better to print the photos as bookmarks rather than pasting them into the journal itself, and putting a bookmark near each significant page.
