Luigi
From Genesee (Trappist) Abbey's News page for 21 December, 2014: Cistercian SpiritualityIf you are interested in early Cistercian spirituality as a source of spiritual growth you definitely will be interested in a new web site that is being developed. Entitled Cistercian Mentors its goal is defined as bringing forth works by Cistercian Fathers and Mothers. . .not so much to know what Bernard, Aelred or William said, but to meet the Christ they searched for and found. They wrote for us so that we can find in the field of our daily lives –ordinary, obscure and laborious as they are- the treasure we pre-tasted, and for which, full of joy, we sold everything to buy that field. They can guide us so that we can dig deeper and deeper and encounter the riches hidden in the Scriptures, our liturgy, work, prayer and common life. Luigi
In addition, Holy Cross Trappist Abbey (monks) in Virginia offers a Monastic Immersion Weekend (MIW) MARCH 13-15, 2015 PRICE FOR WEEKEND IS $300 Monastic Immersion Weekends are intensive retreats in which participants ‘immerse’ themselves in the life of the community and monastic life. Originally intended only for men discerning a vocation, in 2013 the community expanded the MIWs to include one for men and one for men and women. These retreats are open to all-those discerning and those not candidates for monastic life but simply looking for a more intense experience in and with the community.
