cartermia
I am attending a Governor Scholar of the Arts ArtShop next week and don't know what to wear. They told the artist what to wear but not the musicians (I am a musician). Does anybody have anybody have any ideas? I was thinking about wearing jeans and a nice top but should I wear kakis? Help is greatly needed!
Luigi
I have no idea what an ArtShop is, but when in doubt, dress slightly up. If the governor is going to be there, I'd dress up even a little bit more. Black pants and a white shirt, with maybe a pullover sweater would work for a man. For a woman, I assume black slacks/skirt and white blouse - with maybe a nice/artsy piece of jewelry? Black and white always looks formal, even if the cut of the clothes isn't particularly. And it can be interpreted as artsy, too.
ChristinaTherese
What are the artists supposed to wear? If it's formal, some form of black and white would probably be good. Or somewhat following their dress code. But, especially as a musician, black and white is pretty much always a good fall back. (So... basically what Luigi said.) Basilisa Marie
I'd go for khakis or black pants, or at the very least nice, dark jeans with a more formal shoe. It's artsy, so you probably don't need to be super formal, but you'll feel better if you're on the dressier side than if you were on the not-so-dressier side. Khakis are probably a good choice, because they can seem both dressy or casual depending on what everyone else is wearing.
cartermia
It said for the art people (like clay, painting, etcetera) to wear old clothes but it said nothing else for the other art sections. Oh and the governor with not be there thank goodness! It is just called that for some reason.
