Let's read this and talk about what we think:

Hi Marigold,

I wanted to share this with you.  I watched this video from Ven. Fulton Sheen about guilt, and I cant help but see the correlation between the abandonment of guilt and the abandonment of reason.

Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome! :)

Semper Catholic

It absolutely matters how you feel.

For those of you posting ridiculous comparisons and anecdotes (the map thing) you're missing the point.

You will never reach your destination no matter how well you can read a map if you're group is mentally and emotionally unprepared for the journey.

I concur with Semper. Your thoughts and feelings dictate your actions so they are hard to separate and its important to understand how they translate into actions.

"I didn't read the article but here's my opinion BYE."

When did phatmass get so self-absorbed?

When did Phatmass get so vindictive?

I think people are missing the point of the article -that is of course if they read it. The article is not talking about the abandonment of feelings nor is it saying feelings do not matter. If you read the article you will realize the title is a play on words based off of the subject being discussed; the material universe (matter) and its value.

@Marigold: You should have probably posted this in Transmundane Lane.

Maybe. I did want a broader-based, perhaps more informal discussion on the article, which I find puts very succintly a lot of the things I, at least, personally struggle with all the time, and see others around me struggling with. I think it might even be one of the main problems in our culture right now?

At any rate it's interesting how the discussion has spiralled out on a tangent.
