Check out this video (if the link will actually work, I don't know why it won't let me post videos like I have in the past).  It's very moving but please be warned that there is a brief moment of obscene language at about 45 seconds into the video.

That homeless guy looks like a Franciscan brother. And I don't just mean his brown clothes. He has the kind, gentle, meek face of a Franciscan brother, too. I say we all pray for him to be raised up from his circumstances.

That touched my heart deeply if only that bit touched more. I am curious who the homeless man is and he was also touched by that other man's act of kindness

I can't imagine the paralyzing grip of homelessness, hunger, and helplessness.  I avoid going into cities because I know that I will see homeless folk (God bless them), and it just tears me apart from the insides to see them there, without a place to stay or a way to make a living.  I know that's not the right approach...

 

I've woken up every day of my life knowing that at some point during that day there will be food for me to eat, and a bed for me to sleep in.  What do I know of that life?  One day I'll make a difference in some of their lives.
