Have Not Been On In Forever Because...

Comingback

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody,

I've been reading posts when I can.  I know that a lot of you prayed for me and my mother when she was sick and when I was making a 2 1/2 hour trip (each way) to see her.  She died on September 17th.  She had been in the hospital the first week of September with pneumonia and failing kidneys.  They discharged her with the pneumonia gone and with her kidneys still failing but pretty stable.  She did not want to go back to the nursing home she was in, so I found on that was only about an hour away.  She was there for 1 week before she was re-admitted to the hospital in that city with complete kidney failure.  She had a letter saying that she definitely did not want to go on dialysis and that was the only option.  I put her on hospice and she died in less that 24 hours.  She had been totally terrified of what her death would be like, but she slipped away very peacefully.  I was not there; I had gone home to feed animals and sleep for a couple of hours before I made the drive back, but she was gone about 4 hours after I left. She, to my surprise was able to donate skin which will be used for burn victims.  So, a part of her still lives!  I am walking a path of grief for her and also re-creating my life because she had been in nursing homes/institutions since 1998.  It feels very strange.

So, anyway, wanted to log on and get active again on here.

Words cannot express adequately how I mourn for you. Going through the death of a parent is life-changing. You have my heartfelt prayers, and I will keep your mother's soul in my prayers as well.

Losing a parent does change the face of our earth.  She may not be here, but she won't be far away, either.

Prayers.
