truthfinder
Clearly that is light rock, just like Roy Orbison. :| Good save. <_< Clearly. I had to pick a song without swearing, and a version that also didn't have swearing on the graphics. No guarantees for the comments though. Hadn't heard the Pogue video before. No guarantees for the comments though. Hadn't heard the Pogue video before. It is too bad that Shane McGowan could not keep himself together back when they were more popular. :P They had a really great thing going for a while. I cannot post it here, but I always listen to Fairytale of New York around Christmas time. :hehe: This is my favourite of theirs: http://youtu.be/gijSDXhnvlc
PhuturePriest
Good save. <_< I can pull off a save if I feel like it. It might interest you that I originally said "25+", but then I thought "No, he's got to be younger than that because he's still in school." I thought 25+ because of your overall demeanor, plus your beard.

You still haven't responded to the song I posted. It's a matter of averages. Most people finish college by the time they're 22, and if they go for a masters degree, 24. Some people are older, and that's fine. They're simply not in the majority, so it's safe to assume if someone is in college they're likely younger than 25. PhuturePriest
FP, could I get a ruling from you on this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4HgAPpuTk8 Not the best recording. Folk music sounds just as deficient with an Irish accent as it does an American one. Is that the response you wanted? :|

IgnatiusofLoyola
I was asking rhetorically. I can't actually imagine a world where a 23+ north American man hadn't actually heard Welcome to the Jungle. I can. :proud: Millions of American men over 23 have not only never heard Welcome to the Jungle, but have never heard that song title. This also applies to millions of American women, including myself. :cans: It's easy to think of our own experiences as typical. (I'm guilty of that.) But, the longer I live, and the more I have read and traveled, the variations in human experience, and my own ignorance about the lives of others, helps keep me humble. Is that the response you wanted? :| I'm concerned then that you classify that song as folk music, because it is essentially delighting in the shooting down of British soldiers. And it was the "got to be" in your other post that pushed me over. Where I did my undergrad, most students were over 22, some of them were WELL over 22. University demographics are changing, maybe for the better.

I'm sorry those choice words made you angry. I'm used to the traditional Catholic college culture, where everyone goes to college immediately and gets engaged before junior year. There's a difference between gleefully, and usually in veiled language, recalling events of the distant past and singing songs which are basically propaganda. I'm glad you understand the difference in college cultures. I'm not entirely sure I've met anyone who did ring by spring. I'll admit that US college culture is undoubtedly very different than in Canada.
