RoseOfGuadalupe
Do you have to go to Mass on the day of consecration? Or is it ok not to? I want to consecrate myself on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe because it was with that apparition that I came to terms with Mary after my reversion to the Church. But Dec. 12 is on a Friday and I'm but a high school student. I won't be able to make it to Mass on that day. Sunday preceding and following, yes. You rock...:smile4: I love Our Lady of Guadalupe! If I remember correctly, it may be done privately, and the Mass and Confession can fit in somewhere within 2 weeks before or after. From the 30 Days to Morning Glory, I am fairly certain it is okay if you don't attend the exact consecration day, and you cant be held to fault if through no control you just can't go. So when you are free you just make a good confession and either attend the next mass , Or I would be willing to be it is also okay to just wait till the next consecration day. I hope to one day study St. Louis De Montfort's consecration to the Blessed Mother, i enjoyed reading 30 Days to Morning Glory, but really just felt it was just a motivational talk as to why we should devote ourselves to Mary, rather than ways to work on deepening a relatonship with her through prayer. I am still working on being devoted to Mary and do my best to keep Her and Christ on my mind an soul daily.
veritasluxmea
Nope, you don't have to go to mass or confession on the day of consecration. Try to do it as close to the date as possible, but in the end just go for it! Congratulations!
Seven77
Missing Mass on Consecration Day for any reason results in automatic excommunication according to canon law. Not really.
