Gabriela
I will be in Chicago on some up-coming Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. (I won't say which week in case any of you crazy PMers are stalkers.) I will be downtown, in the area bounded by Madison, Michigan, Roosevelt, and Ashland. I will not have a car (but I do carry a gun—stalkers, take note). I am a traditional Catholic who has no objection to attending a nice, reverent, traditional Novus Ordo, but I do prefer a Tridentine Mass when I can get one. Can any kind Chicagoan (<< is that a word?) help me find a place to go to Mass? Edited October 14, 2014 by curiousing
Norseman82
Two options: 1) St. Peter's at 110 W. Madison, close to all the 'L' and subway lines, and within the boundaries you posted: http://www.stpetersloop.org/ Plus, they have confessions all day from 7:30 AM to 6PM on Monday-Friday and noon-4:30 on Saturday. This is popular with the downtown workforce. It doesn't do the EF, but daily masses are typically simple. 2) St. John Cantius is the "mother church" of the EF in the midwest and has a daily EF mass. Although it is about a mile north of your boundaries, it is right near the Chicago Ave. Blue Line stop (subway and 'L' lines in Chicago are color-coded): http://www.cantius.org/ http://www.cantius.org/go/about_us/category/directions/ I would caution you on the gun - Chicago politicians and police top brass are typically not second-amendment friendly, and Illinois only recently became the last state to allow concealed carry, and only because the courts forced it on the state. Be mindful of teh "no guns" signs at esablishments (the handgun with a red circle and slash). If you have a CC permit from your state, check to make sure it is valid in Illinois and be sure that your paperwork is in order; otherwise I feel that you and I may meet in person when I come to post your bail. Super helpful, Norseman. Solves the whole problem, really... I think I can make it to St. John Cantius all three days, but if something should interfere, I'll use St. Peter's as back-up. Thank you, sir! BTW: You would post my bail? I had no idea we were so close... :hehe: Edited October 14, 2014 by curiousing
