Dog Vs Snake Bite

I know this is the wrong forum but we think the family dog got bit by a snake. We are very worried and are trying to get help. So scared right now!!!!! =(

Do you have any idea what kind of snake it might have been? I think all snakes can bite, but they're not all poisonous.

 

What kinds of snakes do you have in your area?

My brother said it was a small snake but not sure what it was. The vet said (over the phone) that bites like this are common and are treated by benedryl. Still a scary thing. Trying to calm down. Not successful :cry: I really love this dog. My whole family would be hit so hard if he died.

dog are fabulous healers.  I've had dogs get in fights with porcupines and bees and fermented mulberry bushes.    They survive when a child or small adult their weight probably wouldn't have.  Try and focus on the fact that genetically dogs are much more pure which allows them many defenses against natural poisons.
